Stitch Fix – July 2016

July 18, 2016 | 22 Comments

This month marked my 27th fix with Stitch Fix.  My first fixes were so exciting, but truth be told – I haven’t been as excited about them lately.  And now that I’ve put myself on a strict budget, it’s time for me to change my frequency of fixes.  From now on, I’ll be posting about this every other month instead of every month.  This month had some good pieces in it, so let’s get right to it!

Stitch Fix Review

Pixley Nelda Halter Blouse – $44.  I loved this shirt so so so much.  But it ended up to be too big in the armpits, and not something I could easily hide with a cardigan.  Returned.

Sweet Grey Falin Lace Detail Knit Top – $54.  Two things: the price?! And the color wasn’t a good fit for me.  It also ended up to be way too big.  Returned.

41Hawthorn Lyone Crew Neck Blouse – $58.  This shirt was a little tight in my hips and just wasn’t very flattering.  Returned.

19 Cooper Rosetta V-Neck Top – $58.  Although I can’t wear this right now (or until November, let’s be honest), it fit well and was a great addition of color to my closet.  Kept.

Romolo Kalle Mixed Metal Layered Fringe Necklace – $34.  This necklace has two parts, but is attached at the clasp.  The outer necklace was a strange length on me, and the inside didn’t stay in place.  The little spikes never stayed how they should, and overall I just didn’t love it.  Returned.

Overall, I ended up only keeping the red shirt (which I love!).  What do you think of my choices?

Do you do Stitch Fix?  If so, how often?  If there are other awesome clothing subscriptions that I should try out, please let me know that as well!

The red top is so pretty. It’s too bad the halter top didn’t fit properly because the print is beautiful — it would look great as a dress too!

    • Meagan

I absolutely loved the print of the first shirt – major bummer. It would be gorgeous as a dress, I agree!

  • Alanna @ Alanna & Company

Well at least you had one good thing. That necklace is super odd.

    • Meagan

      Isn’t it? I couldn’t figure it out!

  • Emelia @ Dream Big & Buy the S

I love that first top, too bad it was too big!

    • Meagan

I know, I was really bummed about that shirt! I love the pattern!

  • Ashley LaMar

I’m glad you kept the red top but other than that this was a miss for me. I’ve started only ordering a fix every 3 months and I specifically ask for items I can wear to work because I like my work wardrobe to include items it’s not easy to find around the area so I know other ppl are unlikely to wear the same thing.

    • Meagan

I’ve been having miss after miss! I might have to switch to every three months. We’ll see how the next one goes in September!

  • Stephanie

The Pixley Nelda Halter Blouse is so cute. I wish it fit you better!

    • Meagan

I know. I am super bummed about that one!

  • Christine Everyday

Love that Rosetta V-Neck! So cute!

    • Meagan

Thanks! I can’t wait for it to cool down so I can wear it!

  • Kristyn | Dash of Herbs

I love the style of all of your shirts. I’m getting a box soon and can’t wait. I switched my frequency to every other month as well because my husband was getting a hernia every time a box arrived. Just kidding. But I love that I don’t have to get boxes every month. That’s the great thing about Stitchfix. Could you request a new stylist to maybe get more things you love?

    • Meagan

They usually give you a new stylist if you don’t keep more than a few items. I’ve had over ten! I hope you do a post about your fix!

  • Trish @ The Trish List

All the shirts are super cute! I just couldn’t spend that much on a shirt. I am so cheap LOL I do love my thrifty finds though and I think that’s really why I have never got on the Stitch Fix train.

    • Meagan

I am becoming more cheap and sometimes gasp at the prices! Hopefully by not getting them as often I can justify spending the money!

  • Erica @ WhimsicalSeptember

Love the shirt you kept! Bummer about the necklace. I’ve selected not to receive jewelry in my fixes, but seeing that necklace makes me reconsider! I never buy myself new jewelry, but I could really use some new pieces!

    • Meagan

I have only kept one piece of jewelry they have sent me – and because it was cheaper to keep it with the 25% discount. Try it once and see what you think!

  • Audrey Louise

Bummer on the first shirt and that yellow one. I thought they were super cute but if it doesn’t fit right (on your or in your budget) then it’s gotta go :) That red top is super cute, though!!

    • Meagan

I am so sad about the first shirt! The yellow wasn’t a great color for me either. I can’t wait to wear the red one!

  • Rachel @ STCL

Bummed that the first shirt didn’t work out for you :( I should probably switch to every other month for fixes too. It’s an expensive habit for sure, haha.

    • Meagan

I am SO sorry it took me so long to reply!! I think the every other month fixes will help with my budget. And it will allow me to really let my stylist know what I’m looking for!
